In the summer before the passing of Belgian artist Raoul De Keyser in 2012, Jef Van Eynde photographed the famous artist’s last studio setup. The works in this setup were intended for an exhibition at David Zwirner, which ended up taking the title of “The Last Wall”, taking after the name of Jef Van Eynde’s photographic series and publication.
Now, eleven years later, Jef Van Eynde went back to photograph Raoul De Keyser's studio and compiled them into this new series titled “Vestiges”. The 165 polaroids in the book show the home and workplace of an artist who is no longer there, but where the power of his oeuvre and his idiosyncratic personality are still undeniably present.
